Asha is currently the lead violinist of the Trans Siberian West Coast Tour and has toured with Dee Snider (Twisted Sister) and Gnarls Barkley with whom she performed at the Grammys. She has played with such artists as Mary J. Blige and Jay-Z, Black Eyed Peas and Roger Daltry (The WHO).

A Boston native, Asha began playing Suzuki violin and viola at age six and attended the New England Conservatory Preparatory School where she studied viola privately with Boston Symphony Orchestra members Michael Zaretsky and Edward Gazouleas.

Many years of classical training followed until she ultimately earned a Bachelor in Music Performance from Wellesley College. Upon graduation, she plunged into the world of “alternative” string music and began studying with Julie Lyonn Lieberman.

While living in LA she performed regularly with the American Idol Band and appeared on The Tonight Show, the Ellen Show and the MTV Movie Awards.

Asha has spent summers performing at Aspen, Tanglewood, Mark O’Connor’s Fiddle Conference, Jazz String Fling at Berklee College of Music.

She has taught music workshops at high schools around the country and is currently creating a “Girls Rock” workshop to teach girls life skills and self-confidence through music, giving them the courage to live authentically and deliberately.
